Smurfit-stone buys Atlanta preprint facility

Sumrfit-Stone Container Corp. purchased Atlanta preprint facility from Advanced Packaging Corporation. The plant consisted of Cobden-Chadwick central impression flexographic preprint press, which prints rolls of linerboard for conversion into corrugated containers. The purchase is expected to double the company's preprint capacity and upgrading as the current technology would allow the business to grow with 35% of eight color, state of the art capacity. Preprint products are part of Smurfit Stone's Fluted High graphics brand packaging.
