With the penetration of photovoltaic power generation increases, the active output power by photovoltaic grid-connected inverters will affect the stability of the power grid frequency. According to the droop characteristic relationship between the active power output by the synchronous generators and the frequency, based on the existing disturbance observation method, this paper proposes an MPPT method with reverse droop characteristics. This MPPT method can support the grid frequency by increasing the active power output by the photovoltaic grid-connected inverter to reduce the grid frequency when the grid frequency increases, and reducing the active power output by the photovoltaic grid-connected inverter to increase the grid frequency when the grid frequency decreases. Finally, using the RT-LAB simulation verified the proposed MPPT method. © 2020, Solar Energy Periodical Office Co., Ltd. All right reserved.
