Thermal analysis of cavity receiver for solar energy heat collector

In this paper, thermal characteristics of the solar collecting system based on Fresnel lens-Hemi-circle cavity receiver with three different glass covers was experimentally and theoretically analyzed, which were compared with no cover. The transient thermal efficiency test experiments for this system were carried on with the same weather condition. The research temperature was during 35-90C. Besides, the thermal loss of the cavity receiver was tested in doors. All the results show that Hemi-Circle (YG) cover is the optimal one. In addition, a numerical analysis for the receiver based on Fluent software has been taken, and the two results are nearly kept in line, whose deviation is less than 10%.
