The ASTM International Committee E44 on Solar; Geothermal; and other Alternative Energy Sources is helping in encouraging innovation in clean energy resources for the future. The committee has realized that renewable energy plays an important role in the global energy portfolio. The committee is accelerating the pace of change in the sector by implementing several relevant standards and techniques. It has formulated standards for heating of domestic water; active and passive space heating and cooling; and process heating. A major focus of the committee?s existing activities is involved in assisting the development of solar energy technologies;
