The technology of double balance force measurement and its application on the hinge moment test in the φ0.5 m hypersonic wind tunnel is introduced in this paper. The balance with a figuration wheelboss is perpendicularly fixed in aft of the tail-body combination with a crossed tail. The aerodynamic characteristics of the two horizontal all-movable elevators could be measured by this method in just one test run. The function of the normal force coefficient, the hinge moment coefficient and the pressure center along the chord with angle of attack is conducted at Mach number of 6 in this test. The nonlinear effect of the aerodynamic characteristics on the elevators surface and the increasing trend of the control force due to that effect are quantitatively described at the large angle of attack and angle of elevator deflection.
