摘要
Based on a bridge with twin separate steel box girders, a number of sectional model wind tunnel tests were performed. The vortex-induced vibration characteristic of a single box girder under 8 different wind attacking angles ranging from -5° to +5° were studied. Then the vortex-induced vibration characteristics of the twin separate box girders with 16 different spacings under the wind attacking angle of +5° were investigated and the results were compared with that of the single box girder. The spacing ratio D/B was from 0.025 to 4.0, where D is the net spacing between twin box girders and B is the width of the single box girder. The test results show that the influences of spacing on vortex-induced vibration characteristics of both windward box girder and leeward box girder can be divided into four regions. © 2017, Editorial Office of Journal of Vibration and Shock.
