Roll control of light vehicles based on integrated chassis control

摘要
An active roll control system for light vehicles is proposed in this paper based on integrated chassis control. Firstly the lateral load transfer rate is chosen as rollover waning factor, which is calculated in real time based on a 3-DoF rollover reference model. On this base an active roll control algorithm is then proposed by using model predictive control to achieve the integrated control of active front steering and active differential braking systems. Finally a Matlab/Simulink and Carsim co-simulation is conducted on the vehicle under typical working conditions. The results show that the active roll control system proposed can accurately predict rollover risk, prevent the vehicle from rolling over and effectively enhance the overall driving performance of the vehicle.
