The calculation of two-photon above-threshold ionization cross sections and angular distributions of magnesium (Mg) was done in the region between the 3p and 4s ionization thresholds using an L2integrable B-spline basis in the Feshbach formalism. The widths, positions, and assignments of a number of doubly excited Feshbach states were reported. The correlation was found to be important in the Feshbach states, indicated by significant mixing among configurations.
