The preparation process of self-assembled ultrathin films of conducting poly(metal tetrathiooxalates) was presented. The method was based on the sequential alternating adsorption of divalent metal cations and tetrathiooxalate (TTO) dianions on charge substrates. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) measurements were used to study the characterization and the stability of the ultrathin films under ambient conditions. It was indicated that thin films of organic-inorganic poly(metal tetrathiooxalate) were easily prepared by self-assembly process.
