It is said that, food is the basic of the people. Based on this, food safety becomes one of the importance factors relating to social harmony. As food safety events happen frequently at home and abroad in recent years, people concern more about food safety. Traditional food safety monitoring system can not work effectively. In order to find out a new monitoring pattern, this study analyzed the importance of public management to the improvement of traditional food safety monitoring system and made initial discussion over the food safety problems in China in the perspective of public governance. © Maxwell Scientific Organization, 2015.
