摘要
Using phenolic resin (PF), sulfur (S) and 2, 5-dimethyl-2, 5-di(tert-butylperoxy) hexane (DBPH) as crosslinking agent, the effects of dynamic vulcanization of glyceryl methacrylate grafted ethylene-propylene-diene rubber (EPDM-g-GMA) on properties of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) were studied. The results show that the dynamically vulcanized PET/EPDM-g-GMA (70/30) blend with PF curing system and curing agent content of 0.6% possesses superior properties. Its notched impact strength is higher than those of neat PET and unvulcanized PET/EPDM-g-GMA (70/30) blend by 594% and 66%, respectively, and its tensile strength is higher than that of unvulcanized PET/EPDM-g-GMA by 19%, which is due to the improved compatibility between PET and EPDM-g-GMA via dynamic vulcanization. Moreover, thermal stability of PET/EPDM-g-GMA blends, crystallization temperature and crystallization rate of PET are also improved because of dynamic vulcanization. © 2018, Editorial Board of Polymer Materials Science & Engineering.
