摘要
The chlorinated paraffin was modified by epoxy fatty acid methyl ester with low molecular weight and grafted into chlorinated paraffin by chemical bonds to improve the compatibility with PVC, which can increase the plasticizing effect and plasticizing efficiency of chlorinated paraffin. The products were characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). FT-IR results show that the epoxy fatty acid methyl ester groups are successfully introduced into the chlorinated paraffin molecules. DSC results show that the glass transition temperature of PVC plasticized with the modified chlorinated paraffin is decreased by 10.4℃ compared with the traditional chlorinated paraffin plasticizer; the plasticizing efficiency analysis shows that the plasticizing efficiency of the modified chlorinated paraffin is increased by 38% compared with that of the unmodified one; the limit oxygen index (LOI) results show that the flame retardancy of the PVC material plasticized with the modified chlorinated paraffin is increased by 25% compared with of the traditional ester plasticizer plasticizer. © 2019, Editorial Board of Polymer Materials Science & Engineering.
