The paper presents some of the results obtained at Lukasiewicz Research Network - Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals in the field of the recycling of secondary lithium-ion batteries. As a result of research, a prototype mechanical-thermal processing line for lithium-ion secondary batteries was developed and built. In addition, tests were carried out on the utilization of the electrode mass of lithium-ion secondary batteries with the application of the pyrometallurgical method. The issues of safety of secondary lithium-ion batteries occurring during mechanical processing are also presented, as well as the solution of a model station for automatic battery d scharge. © 2020 GDMB Gesellschaft fur Bergbau, Metallurgie, Rohstoff- und Umwelttechnik e.V..
