Since 1980, the use of computing has grown at an unprecedented rate. Tis growth is re?ected in the dramatic growth of doctorates awarded in computer and information sciences by United States universities. Tis article reviews and analyzes the changing demographics of doctoral degree recipients in computing at U.S. universities between 1980 and 2018. © 2021 Association for Computing Machinery.
