摘要
Passive wireless sensors powered by radio frequency (RF) electromagnetic waves can break through constraints of application environment and power supply. This study proposes a universal programmable RF sensing tag, which consists of sensing circuit for impedance sensors, data acquisition module, electromagnetic wave self-powering module and wireless transceiver. The transceiver transmits sensing data to the reader by backscattering. The self-powering module operates in the pre-charge mode to ensure the measurement robustness and increase the wireless interrogating distance. By optimizing the inquiring flow of the reader, the interrogating efficiency for multiple tags is significantly improved and the query duration of multiple tags are approximately equal to the duration of a single tag. The inductive magnetic field sensors are connected to the proposed sensing tags to evaluate the passive wireless sensing system. Experimental results show that the average wireless interrogating distance of the prototype tags can reach 3.27 m. A linear correlation coefficient of 0.997 4 can be achieved between the passive wireless and wired measurements. Both relative errors are comparable, which are no more than 1.0%. © 2020, Science Press. All right reserved.
