Effects of Magnesium Oxide Nanoparticle and Juliflora Biodiesel-Diesel Fuel on the Performance, Emissions and Combustion Parameters of an Unmodified Diesel Engine

The goal of the current study is to evaluate better and more suitable biodiesel for single-cylinder, four-stroke diesel engines by adding magnesium oxide (MgO) nanoparticles. The juliflora biodiesel-diesel mixture, known as B20 (20% juliflora oil and 80% diesel), was prepared on a mass scale. MgO nanoparticles are prepared using the sol-gel technique. In order to characterize MgO nanoparticles, scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction were used. The chosen MgO concentrations are 25 PPM, 50 PPM and 75 PPM when combined with B20 and ultrasonicated. In order to determine the BTE and SFC of the single-cylinder constant-speed diesel engine under various loading conditions, the investigation was conducted. Based on test results, addition of MgO has increased the performance and lowered emission parameters when compared to diesel fuel. © 2023. Carbon Magics Ltd.
