Kinetic isotope effect evidence for the protonation pathway in CO2 photoreduction

摘要
The reaction pathways in CO2 2 photoreduction are controversial and lack definitive and direct evidence for confirmation. In a recent Nature Communications paper, Huo and coworkers unveil the protonation pathway by the kinetic isotope effect, where the H+/D+-protonated + /D +-protonated intermediates are observed and their inverse decay kinetic isotope effect is captured.
