摘要
The Economic consequences of the peace. Antonio Salandra's Notes <middle dot> The purpose of this essay is to combine the transcription and critical revision of Antonio Salandra's unpublished notes to John Maynard Keynes's Economic Consequences of the Peace, deposited in the Municipal Library of Lucera (Foggia, Italy), with an introduction that traces the contours of Salandra's participation in the sessions of the Versailles Conference and illustrates a glimpse of the Italian statesman's life connected with Keynes' work: the appointment to the sub-commission assigned to the evaluation of reparations; the joint resignation, in polemic with the choices of the respective governments; the writing of a document vindicatinghis own theses; a document that, in Salandra's case, had the form of a private diary and, unlike Keynes, was on the question of the determination of Italy's eastern borders and how to pay for the reparations. With his Economic Consequences's analysis, Salandra does not participate in the great process of Keynes' acclimatisation in Italy (Becattini 1994). He did not disseminate Keynes but appropriated it to integrate it into his own world, to strenghten his memories and to find new dialectical arguments against Orlando and Sonnino as leaders of the Italian delegation at the Peace Conference.
