The Potential of Incest in Por la patria and Los trabajadores de la muerte by Diamela Eltit

This paper analyzes the incestuous interactions present in two novels by Diamela Eltit: Por la patria (1986) and Los trabajadores de la muerte (1998). It is proposed that the incestuous exercise serves the characters to question, defy and subvert the established orders of association. In order to support this approach, a critical review of the readings made by Barrientos, Brito, Carreno and Scarabelli is made, and then a detailed analysis of the incestuous tensions present in both novels is carried out.
