Objective: The main objective is to map the results obtained with the public policy of granting master's degree scholarships, based on the insertion of scholarship holders in the Brazilian job market, after graduation, within the scope of the Science Without Borders Program, in programs in the United States. Methodology: A qualitative and quantitative documentary study was carried out with the universe of 514 scholarships granted, among the strategic and priority areas for Brazil, within the scope of the program. Originality/relevance: The CsF, initiated in 2011, aimed to promote the international mobility of Brazilian undergraduate and graduate students, researchers and professors, as well as to boost the internationalization of science, technology and innovation in the country. The study of this topic becomes pioneering, since there is no similar study in the Brazilian literature. Results: It was found that 65% of former professional master's degree scholarship holders who studied in the US work in higher education institutions in the field of Engineering, working in the innovation and service sectors, with approximately 70% coming from the Southeast of the country. Contributions to knowledge: This study provides an advance in knowledge in the literature, offering data and information by introducing, albeit preliminarily, an innovative theme, given the recent nature of the professional master's degree modality in Brazil. Social contributions/public management: These findings can be used to guide public policies related to international training at the professional master's level and technological development in Brazil.
