Creative, controversial, controversial and provocative, Nelson Rodrigues was, undoubtedly, if not the greatest, one of the greatest Brazilian playwrights. The Brazilian theatrical panorama is divided into before and after him. He wrote mainly for the theater, but he also wrote novels, serials and chronicles that fell in popular favor as well as among specialized critics. Among the seventeen plays he wrote, we have Kiss on the Asphalt, a drama and, at the same time, a tragedy. This text was released in three cinema versions. The article deals with the source text, as well as cinematographic texts. The first film version dates back to the 1960s (directed by Flavio Tambellini); the second version is from 1980 (directed by Bruno Barreto) and the third is from 2018 (directed by Murilo Benicio).
