Religions, interreligious dialogue and social development in Africa

Africa is a religious continent. The role of religion in the public space has been growing for the last decades. In many African societies, religious belief influences political and economic institutions, development policies, and religion must be looked at as a key element in development processes. How does religion fit into these development processes ? Do religions have a role in fighting poverty and corruption in Africa ? If so, do they contribute to the socio-economic development of African societies ? What is the relationship between religion and social development in Africa ?
