摘要
This paper aims at unraveling the particular conception of historical time derived from different metaphors and arguments developed by Theodor Adorno and Max Horkheimer in Dialectic of the Enlightenment . By so doing, this paper strives to account from this work potentiality so as to bring light into the problems and tendencies underlying our regimen of historicity. Through our interpretation of their reading of the passage of the sirens, this paper will frame Adorno and Horkheimer's diagnostic of modern historical time as bringing with it a separation between the present and the past that tend to make the latter fade within the configuration of historical time. Going beyond Theodor Adorno and Max Horkheimer's historical framework it will be delved further into the specificities of the so-called "presentist regimen of historicity" so as to evaluate to what extent ideas stemming from Dialectic of the Enlightenment provide conceptual tools so as to inquiry into the weaknesses of remembering the past today.
