摘要
The use of EPAs as a framework for competency-based medical education in pediatrics offers a focused and pragmatic approach to shaping the next generation of pediatricians. This approach to building curriculum specifically targets key activities essential to the practice of pediatrics, such as conducting well-child visits, managing common pediatric illnesses, addressing mental health and behavioral concerns in patients, and fostering effective communication with patients and their families. By structuring curricula around EPAs and implementing these curricula in a genuine and authentic way using the core components of CBME, educators can ensure that trainees acquire a comprehensive skill set and attain proficiency in the essential tasks crucial for an excellent general pediatrician. This approach involves a growth, rather than fixed mindset, and is adaptable for developing both programmatic curricula and personalized learning plans.
