Eco-friendly catalyst in ultrasonic-assisted oxidative desulfurization of dibenzothiophene compound

10 W t.% WO3@activated carbon was prepared from apple peel and used as a catalyst in ultrasonic -assisted oxidative desulfurization of dibenzothiophene@octane in the presence of H2O2 as an oxidant. The physical characteristics of the prepared catalyst were investigated using X-ray diffraction, N2 -adsorption -desorption, and scanning electron microscope. The reaction time, oxidant dose, catalyst dose, and sulfur compound concentration were studied to reach 99 % dibenzothiophene removal at ambient conditions and after four cycles the efficiency of dibenzothiophene removal can reach 97.7 %. The kinetic parameters were studied and indicate the ultrasonicassisted oxidative desulfurization reaction is pseudo -second order.
