State of knowledge: teaching identities of English teachers

摘要
This article has the objective to discuss a bibliographic survey done in the Catalogue of Theses & Dissertations Capes about dissertations produced between 2017 and 2023 that problematize being an English teacher, teaching identities and educational policies. To this end, it is showed a state of knowledge carried out during the professional master's degree with effects on the doctorate in order to problematize discussions with the findings of the research. On the methodology, a bibliographic survey is used, which presents as results that the specificity of English teachers is little investigated in the large area of knowledge Human Sciences, in the area of Education, according to the descriptors listed. The small number of dissertations produced informs the social relevance of this type of applied research, so that there is a specific look at the area of Liberal Arts/English.
