摘要
For gravimetric sensing applications, there is a need for rapid frequency estimation with high precision. All digital frequency domain-based techniques are proposed in the recent past to achieve parts-per-million (ppm) level frequency estimation for environmental sensing applications. These systems include a programmable FFT engine with low latency that require twiddle factors on the fly. This paper provides a detailed study of four such CORDIC-based architectures for high throughput twiddle factor generation. The architectures implemented on a 65nm CMOS technology reveal that in terms of area, power, and throughput the basic pipelined CORDIC is well suited providing a least angle of 95.87 mu radians.
