摘要
Ana Montenegro was a Brazilian activist nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2005. Affiliated with the Communist Party of Brazil since 1945, she was a candidate for state deputy in 1946 and began her work in the communist and women's press in 1947. She wrote for the newspapers O Momento , O Momento Feminino , Imprensa Popular and Novos Rumos until 1964, when, for her political actions, she was accused by the military government of subversive activities. Thanks to a network of international female intellectual solidarity, she managed to leave Brazil and go into exile in East Germany, where she worked for the Women's International Democratic Federation. This article aims to show the work done by Ana Montenegro during her exile, as well as to analyze this network of women's press that she operated since the 1940s, circulating ideals contrary to U.S. imperialism and dictatorial regimes implemented in Latin America.
