The CAPES Programa de Resid & ecirc;ncia Pedag & oacute;gica (PRP) is a government initiative to encourage and improve the training of graduates in Brazil. With the aim of inserting them into the school space, the PRP allows students to work in teaching and assimilate knowledge about pedagogical practice on site, experiencing - under supervision - the routines of the school environment At UERJ, the participation of the Portuguese language in the PRP takes place through two groups, coordinated by two professors from the institution and bringing together six preceptors professors and thirty fellows. In this text, we present the proposal developed by this group, combining Portuguese language, teaching and teacher training and indicating some of the activities carried out. Our results point to a scenario in which the implementation of the project is extremely important in the initial training process of undergraduate students and that their insertion in the school space provided the opportunity to combine the theoretical knowledge they learned at university with their teaching practice. experienced in everyday school life.
