摘要
Magnetic nanoparticle synthesis from petai peel extract (Parkia speciossa Hassk.) by the coprecipitation method and its application for methyl violet dye adsorption has been studied. Magnetic MNPS-PT was characterized based on FTIR and XRD instruments and also analyzed for the effect of a pH dye solution on MNPs-PT. This study successfully synthesized MNPs-PT, as indicated by the FTIR spectrum of the Fe-O magnetic core band at 562.08 cm-1 and the XRD peak diffractograms according to the JCPDS standard #19-0629. The kinetics and isotherms of adsorption of MNPs-PT were analyzed using Lagergren's pseudo-first-order (PFO) and Ho's pseudo-second-order (PSO) kinetics, Langmuir's and Freundlich's isotherms. The adsorption processes of MNPs-PT follow Ho's (PSO) kinetic and Freundlich's isotherm models. The optimum adsorption for MV onto MNPs-PT is at pH 4, 120 min, and 12 mg/L with 94.84% adsorbed. The result showed the potential of MNPs-PT as an adsorbent for methyl violet dye.
