摘要
This paper presents a radiation pattern decoupling (RPD) method using metal pins for circular polarization microstrip antennas (CPMAs). The loaded metal pin couples an extra anti-phase current that effectively cancels out the original coupled current on the coupled patch. This cancellation effect allows the antenna to obtain RPD characteristic. To verify the RPD method, a 1x2 CPMA array is designed at 3.6 GHz. It is important to note that the radiation patterns of the decoupled antennas all along the broadside direction. This characteristic is defined as the RPD.
