摘要：

The design, fabrication, purchasing, installation, testing, maintenance, and retirement of electrical systems and equipment found in petrochemical facilities are defined in various types of documents. These documents can be in the form of Standards, Practices, Guides, Specifications, and Codes & Regulations. This paper discusses the differences between these document types, how these documents are developed, when each of the documents should be used, and how to maximize their benefits when used within the petrochemical industry.
