摘要
A new species of a deep-sea Bathymodiolinae mussel is described as Gigantidas niobengalensis sp. nov. based on both molecular and morphological data. It was collected at a cold methane seep environment in the Bay of Bengal at 1750 m water depth. It is compared with other species of Gigantidas, especially the related G. childressi, G. mauritanicus, G. platifrons, and the G. haimaensis group.
