摘要
Under the dual carbon target, it is still of great significance to study the impact of Inward Foreign Direct Investment (IFDI) on China's carbon emissions. A study of China's carbon emissions levels and IFDI from 2012 to 2019 found that growth in foreign direct investment increased China's carbon emissions. However, the impact of carbon emissions is different from that of industries, and the characteristics of industries determine the level of carbon emissions. Therefore, the government should improve the investment rules, optimize the investment structure, and gradually promote the industrial structure adjustment. They should also actively guide foreign investment flows to low-carbon industries, constantly improve environmental protection standards, supervision of enterprises to comply with the standards, accelerate the formulation of industrial carbon emission reduction standards.
