Rapid detection of sunset yellow and lemon yellow in beverage based on carbon dots from peanut shell

A simple, sensitive and rapid method for the detection of sunset yellow and lemon yellow in beverage was established using strongly fluorescent carbon dots from peanut shell (PE-CDs)as fluorescent probes, which were synthesized by one-step hydrothermal method. The sunset yellow and lemon yellow colorants could bind to fluorescent PE-CDs respectively to undergo static quenching effect. Under the optimal conditions, the sunset yellow and lemon yellow solutions had good linear relationships with the fluorescence quenching degree of PE- CDs in the ranges of 6.8-1130 μg/mL and 0.2-50 μg/mL,respectively. The detection limits were 9.3 ng/mL and 0.38 ng/mL, and the recoveries were 96.3%-105.0% and 95.0%-106.7%, respectively. © 2023, Youke Publishing Co.,Ltd. All rights reserved.
