摘要
The thermoplastic ionomeric film is widely used in laminated glass. Because of its good bonding performance, it has been employed in the adhesive connection of glass structures in engineering practice. In order to investigate the shear performance of the connection between glass and stainless steel bonded by the ionomeric film, the shear tests were carried out on six specimens. The influence of two types of stainless steel surface treatments on the connection was considered. The load-displacement curves of the specimens were obtained. Using graphical method, the yield point of the connection under shear was determined, at which the yield stress of the film was obtained. A method for calculating the stress distribution of the adhesive layer was obtained through differential analysis. The accuracy of the method was verified by using finite element analysis. Subsequently, the influences of film thickness and bonding length on the stress distribution were analyzed. The results show that the film thickness has no significant effect on the stress distribution, but the increase of the bonding length will increase the degree of non-uniform stress distribution. The applicability of the existing failure criteria was verified. A simplified calculation method for the shear resistance of the connection was proposed. Its accuracy was verified by both the experimental results and finite element results. © 2021, Editorial Office of Journal of Building Structures. All right reserved.
