Korsch, Lukács and the tasks of critical social theory

This article attempts to highlight the possible contributions of K. Korsch's Marxism and Philosophy and G. Lukacs' History and Class Consciousness to the determination of the tasks of a critical social theory today. We will focus on questions such as ideology, the diagnosis of reification and the critique of positivism. In doing so, we will confront ourselves with the topicality of these works, which are fundamental for Western Marxism, on the 100th anniversary of their publication.
