The aim of this work was to design and analysis of the laminated composite plate for superior ballistic impact resistance. A laminated composite plate was modelled using ANSYS ACP (Ansys Composite Pre-Post). The explicit dynamic analysis was performed using finite element analysis to find the resistance of the composite laminates. The impact resistance of the laminated composite plate was simulated for various velocities of impact. The results of the design of experiments guided simulation were used for optimization to identify the optimum design points of the laminated plate. The ply orientation was considered as the design variable to perform the optimization. The comparison of the resistance of the different combinations of the plates was discussed. © 2022
