摘要：
This paper analyzes modernity time in Brazilian 1940 and 1950 decades, stressing the huge cultural movement on that period. It focus subjects such as modernity, development and time thinkings, representation matters, cities, generations, memories. The reference about these themes goes through the literary study of Fernando Sabino's most remarkable book, O encontro marcado, first published in 1956.
