摘要
This paper discusses a general aproach to the application of principles and methodologies that facilitate training and certification based on Job competencies as some of the pillars that enable organizations to be competitive. It presents the principal models, including different postulates and methodologies that systemize this concept in organizations which, with respect to the development of competencies, are part of the variables to be considered in connection with the concept that traditional education is not a means to develop individual competencies because it fails to consider the role of experience in this process. Furthermore, it postulates that individuals now learn from their professional experience (which is a way of developing competencies) along their careers. In this process, it is the individuals themselves who need to get actively involved in their own training, thereby making the best use of these experiences. This is a key factor not only to developing existing competencies, but also to acquiring new ones. It also suggests that a single experience can be used to develop several competencies, and that any competency can be developed from a series of experiences. Lastly, it stresses the important role of organizations in the creation of favorable conditions to make this entire process effective.
