COAL-TAR AS A RAW-MATERIAL FOR ELECTRODE INDUSTRY

Taking into account, the electrode industry requirements, possibilities of obtaining pitches and electrode cokes from coal tar have been discussed. The necessity for differentiated processing of various tars, depending on their quality and the product destination, has been pointed out. A possibility of obtaining of high-quality coke, so called fibrous coke, from the appropriately prepared coke tar has been shown, and a relevant manufacturing process presented.
