The contribution of contemporary art to intercultural dialogue: proposal for an appreciation approach in art class

摘要
This article presents an intercultural approach to art appreciation inspired by the Anderson model, with which we have experimented in the context of the initial and continuing education of art teachers. Making the intercultural dimension a part of arts education is an emerging challenge in Quebec, where new avenues that take into account the specificities of the artistic discipline and changes in the school population must be explored. Contributing to enriching the field of arts education, this article proposes an innovative approach that aims to be a fertile combination of intercultural education and the appreciation of current art practices. This approach, which also makes it possible to begin an intercultural dialogue in the visual arts class, is an enrichment for both students and teachers who are called upon to get a practical grasp of certain cultural and social issues specific to the multicultural world in which we live.
