摘要：
Lightweight sandwich structures are increasingly used for mil and road bound vehicles as well as in shipbuilding. This development is accompanied by intensified discussions of the five ratings and fire tests for the materials used in these sectors. for, unlike metals, these new lightweight materials are not inherently non-flammable. Newly developed materials for sandwich cores meet all requirements concerning flame retardance, evolution of toxic gases and smoke gas density.
