摘要：
A new way to study localized vibrational (LV) modes in an anharmonic chain is presented. The result obtained in this way shows that the LV modes degenerate into the harmonic mode at the frequency corresponding to the top of the phonon band. The conclusion that the existence of the LV mode is independent of the magnitude of the anharmonic force constant is proved exactly.
