摘要
Three criteria for TV-programming are compared: equity, utilitarian welfare and maximum audience attendance. In a model with two types of TV-audiences with similar and specific utility functions it is demonstrated that a state monopoly is superior to an audience maximising monopoly, which in turn is preferable to competition between two TV-channels. Other possible forms of TV-channel management are briefly considered.
