VARIATION IN THE PARAMETERS OF INDIVIDUAL SPATIAL-DISTRIBUTION IN POPULATIONS OF ROUND-HEADED LIZARD PHRYNOCEPHALUS-VERSICOLOR STR (REPTILIA, AGAMIDAE)

Observations were made in July 1985 on marked round-headed lizard Phrynocephalus versicolor at four locations in South Mongolia with a view to studying the variation in individual spatial distribution in lizard populations, with particular use of the indicator of "radius of repeat encounter" (r) in estimating absolute population density. We identified significant differences between the populations, although this did not prevent utilization of indicator r in calculating their absolute density. There were no sex differences in their spatial distribution.
