摘要：
The article analyzes the logic and contradictions of modernization projects which have ever been carried out in Russia. It is stated that these projects were incomplete, imposed by the authorities and, as a rule, failed to reach the goals set. It is important to revise the role of the society and culture for the current modernization project to be successful.
