UNITED GERMANY 7 CARDINAL SINS - A CRITIQUE OF GERMAN FOREIGN-POLICY

Since unification, Germany has come under criticism for acting unilaterally and in its own interest on as many as seven important issues. The author contends that rather than being deliberate, the apparent assertiveness in German foreign policy is the result of incoherent policy-making caused by the divisions in the German governmental structure. The resulting problems are likely to persist and even worsen.
