摘要
A half-space governed by the equations of thermoelasticity with two relaxation times is considered. The bounding plane is acted upon by a combination of a thermal and a mechanical shock acting for a finite period of time. Laplace transform techniques together with the method of potentials are used. The transforms are inverted analytically using asymptotic expansions valid for short times to obtain the temperature and stress distributions. Numerical results are obtained and illustrated graphically for a particular case.
