Ziya Gokalp and the Place in Turkish Literature

Ziya GOKALP was a thinker who, at the begining of twentieth century, had influence on our culture, art, thought and literature with his opinions. Besides, Ziya GOKALP also appears with his academic career and journalist profile. He was both a man of deeds and a writer who had chosen to disseminate his ideas and opinions by making use of various literary types. His works is precious for its ideas, but not for its artistic quality. With his ideas, he affected not only his period of time but also men of letters, intellectuals and artists who raised afterwards. In this article, it is attempted to explain his all aspects.
